ECE R129 (i-Size)

The Britax Römer i-Size Flex Base provides a safe and ergonomic recline position for your child. The Flex Base is to be connected to the Isofix anchor points of your car by using the Isofix hooks. After that, you simply need to click the infant car seat onto the base and you are ready to go. With only a flick of the wrist on the back of the infant car seat makes releasing it even simpler. The inclination of the Flex Base can be adjusted in four different levels and ensures a flatter position of the infant car seat even in case of more inclined seats in your car.

At the beginning, the neck muscles of newborn babies is not yet fully developed which is why your child should preferably lie in a flat position. The patented technology by Britax Römer ensures such a position. Adjusting the recline position is very simple - when you adjust the height of the headrest, the recline position adapts accordingly. The built-in newborn insert with shock-absorbing foam padding provides extra support and additional protection.

The SICT technology is to be activated on the door side of the car seat at all times. The side impact protection technology provides double protection for your child. In case of a side impact, the forces that occur are distributed away from your little one and then absorbed.

The 5-point safety belt is perfectly suitable for your child. It keeps him safe in the shell and distributed the forces that occur in the event of an impact via five different points. The padded headrest as well as the shoulder straps can be adjusted easily and with only one hand - that way, they can be adapted perfectly to the size of your child.

免活受罪！美研究：約70%乳癌初期患者不用化療

乳癌高居女性癌症發生率第一名，並且有年輕化趨勢，而現在乳癌治療出現重大突破！美國研究團隊發表最新研究，指出高達70%的乳癌初期患者，切除腫瘤後可免接受化療，既能免除病患不必要的痛苦，也不會影響存活率。

一份刊登於美國臨床腫瘤學學會（ASCO）年度大會及《新英倫醫學期刊》的研究指出，過去，婦女被診斷出早期「荷爾蒙受體陽性、HER2受體陰性型」這種最常見的乳癌時，醫生會以「基因檢測」分析未來10年復發風險，按分數高低來決定腫瘤切除後是否要接受化療。

0~10分屬低風險，只須接受荷爾蒙療法；26~100分則屬高風險，要接受荷爾蒙療法及化療；11~25分為中等風險。約70%的病人都屬於中等風險，但醫生為了保險起見，往往建議這類病人接受化療以減少癌細胞擴散或復發風險。不過，化療藥物可造成嘔吐、疲倦、不孕以至永久神經痛等副作用，在少數情況下，更能導致心臟衰竭甚至白血病。

紐約愛因斯坦醫學院將6700名18~75歲、中等復發風險的乳癌患者，隨機分兩組，一組在化療後接受荷爾蒙治療，另一組只接受荷爾蒙治療。結果發現兩批人的9年存活率都是近94%。

不過中等復發風險患者中，風險分數和年齡的不同，化療效果還是有差。50~70歲的女性，不管評分多少，接受化療組與未接受組之間差異都不大。50歲以下、評分在15分或以下者，不論是否接受化療，結果也都類似。但50歲以下、評分在16~25分之間，則接受化療的效果較好。

參與撰寫研究報告的芝加哥洛約拉大學醫學院（Loyola Medicine）腫瘤學家阿爾班恩（Kathy Albain）指出，根據這項研究的結果，罹患最常見類型乳癌的病人，約70%可安全地免受化療。協助籌備研究的美國乳癌專家諾頓（Dr. Larry Norton）表示，此研究結果「十分重要」，意味著美國每年多達7萬病人可免受化療之苦，還能省下一筆醫藥費。（吳雯淇／綜合外電報導）
